In 2026, UnitedConsumers ranked best in customer satisfaction, with a final score of 9.0. The supplier achieved the highest score for responsiveness—including on weekends—and for the quality of its responses to customers. Pure Energie and Vattenfall ranked second and third.

Every year, the Keuze.nl energy team investigates which energy suppliers rank best in terms of price, solar panels, and customer satisfaction.
For 2026, we used, among other things, price data from our energy comparison tool, customer reviews, and information about customer service. The study was reviewed by energy expert Geert Wirken.

How does Keuze.nl choose the best energy supplier?
For this study, we use our own price data from our energy comparison tool, examine multiple consumption scenarios, analyze customer reviews, and evaluate suppliers based on service, responsiveness, and terms and conditions. In doing so, we look not only at promises but also at the fine print.
Our price calculations include all costs, including discounts, feed-in costs, and feed-in tariffs. When assessing customer satisfaction, we look beyond just a review score: we also evaluate whether a supplier is easy to reach and provides substantive responses to customers.

Who is the best dynamic energy supplier?
Dynamic contracts are not included in this study of the best energy supplier offering a fixed-rate contract. We have made a conscious decision to exclude them because a dynamic contract works differently from a fixed-rate contract.
That’s why we’re evaluating dynamic energy suppliers in a separate study, where we look at factors such as price, customer satisfaction, and suitability for households with solar panels.

In our energy comparison tool, we only list suppliers we trust. However, we take a particularly critical look at suppliers whose terms and conditions could be disadvantageous to consumers.
