With a SIM-only plan that can be canceled monthly, you can cancel your service any month. This means you’re not locked into a SIM-only plan for one or two years, but are free to switch providers whenever you want with a one-month notice period.

Benefits of a SIM-only plan with monthly cancellation

The main benefits of a monthly cancellable SIM-only plan are: flexibility, hassle-free switching, and the ability to easily adjust your data allowance.
 

This is a good option if you:

1. Are temporarily in the Netherlands—such as students, expats, or seasonal workers. You want a Dutch 06 number without being locked in for a year.

2. Want to try out a new provider. Before signing a 2-year contract with an unfamiliar provider, test their coverage and customer service in your area for 2–3 months first.

3. Are in a transitional period: Your old phone is broken, you’re waiting for the new iPhone, or you’re between two plans. Avoid double charges with a SIM card you can cancel monthly.

4. You need a spare SIM or backup A second phone for work, an emergency number for the car, or a temporary number for online marketplaces. Cancel it every month as soon as you no longer need it.
